Highlights of the Postion

The Teamcenter Systems Administrator effectively manages the Teamcenter PLM environment, provides daily support to the user base and assists in various Teamcenter implementation and improvement projects. The administrator is expected to collaborate with cross functional teams including design, engineering, finance, IT infrastructure and operations, and PLM vendors. Displays a high level of initiative and commitment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership in the strategy, development, and execution of global PLM/PDM roadmap
  • Act as key communicator and contributor to ensure collaboration among key stakeholders and departmental teams
  • Design, test, implement, and evaluate application configurations to meet business process requirements. Review and approve technical specifications.
  • Develop and maintain Teamcenter workflows, overall workflow design and handlers
  • Provide Teamcenter training to new users and guidance to existing project teams, act as first point of contact for problem resolution. Develop, conduct and assist in user training
  • Create and manage the standard operating procedures for Teamcenter user account creation, maintenance and license management (organization, users, groups and roles)
  • Responsible for specification, configuration, installation, maintenance and support of Teamcenter Unified Architecture at server and client level, including production, quality assurance (QA), development environments and client systems
  • Plan, deploy and launch server and client software updates and upgrades with project teams. Perform ongoing release management
  • Coordinate with organization to plan releases, schedule and coordinate outages for deployment
  • Act as point person for Siemens problem resolution
  • Define, implement and test disaster recovery plans
  • Manage multiple server environments, e.g. development, test, pre-production & production
  • Perform root cause analysis to debug recurring problems with Teamcenter and utilize programming skills to prevent the recurrence of these problems
  • Develop custom queries and reports, and implement classification hierarchies to allow end-users to efficiently and effectively locate items of interest
  • Drive efficiency initiatives including knowledge management, system administration automation and effective documentation. Author, review and maintain system (and user) documentation

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree, Engineering or Computer Science preferred
  • Experience managing and administering one or more PDM/PLM systems (Enovia, Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill)
  • Experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Windows Operating System and IIS Web / Application server
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
  • Requires strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Prefer experience in ERP systems integration
  • Prefer experience developing tools to automate System Administration tasks including software deployment, system monitoring and routine maintenance of organization, workflows, change management, FMS and dispatcher
